I am so happy to receive your email. I miss being with you at the Thursday night Bhagavad Gita class. I am glad to know that you are still attending every Thursday and that Madhu is giving the class.
Yes, Krsna wants us to trust Him. This is His final instruction to Arjuna near the end of the BG. 18.66
The opposite of trust is fear. Trusting Krsna means giving up our fear. Krsna is not asking us to trust him blindly. He is not asking us to have blind faith. No! We can learn to trust Krsna. How? By our own direct experience we can see that Krsna is the most reliable.
We can have this direct experience by keeping our awareness present in each moment. How do we keep our awareness present in each moment? By letting go of thinking about the past or future and noticing our direct experience of each moment. Then we directly experience that we are alive and exist. Such as when we listen to the silence behind the sound, we naturally notice there is awareness of hearing. The awareness is not another thought. No, the awareness exists before the thought, during the thought and after the thought. Awareness is our true self.
Awareness is always present and never changes, therefore we can trust it. Where does awareness come from? Awareness comes from the supreme source of everything, Krsna!
Our life comes from Krsna. Therefore we can trust Krsna because He is the most reliable.
Attached you will find a short essay i recently wrote about trust and surrender. I hope you enjoy it.
I am looking forward to seeing you in April. Please write to me whenever you feel like it.
